Ditch breakfast & lose weight

Errrrr, WRONG. Have you ever skipped breakfast and thought “no worries that’ll chop some calories out of my day”? Research shows that for the most part people who skip breakfast end up eating MORE calories by the days end than those who have breakfast. By missing breakfast when you finally do eat you can end up eating more than you should, and hunger can sometimes make you instinctively grab something high calorie.

Next time you consider ditching breakfast remember this point – at night your metabolism slows down and doesn’t fire back up again until you eat. If you miss breakfast then your metabolism will be crawling along in low gear attempting to conserve calories. If that’s not scary enough if your last meal was at 7pm and the next time you eat is 1pm the next day that’s an 18hr gap between feedings - now that’s a scary thought!
